Just had my first meal at The Gathering Place. It felt like I walked into my grandparents' family room that they turned into a restaurant--and that's a good thing. I was instantly comfortable. Right off the bat I loved that my coffee cream (try the hazelnut coffee!!) was fresh. No aseptic plastic tubs!! That's rare, but something I enjoyed. I had the Reuben omelet and would gladly eat it again, but I'm excited to go back and try more. My coffee cup was only dry twice: when it was brought to my table and when I left the table. My server was very attentive, but not obnoxiously present. It was perfect. My only disappointment is that i didn't explore this area sooner to find this restaurant.

People who are complaining about waitresses not wearing masks, STAY HOME!!! If you are that worried a waitress isn't wearing her mask, then you need to stay home! You think you're not breathing the same air as someone at another table, reality check, you are!! You think simply walking to a table with a mask on protects you when a soon as you sit down you take it off like everyone else sitting around you? Learn some logic. And some People medically cannot wear them. I have never eaten here but I was reading reviews to see how it was and I got very upset seeing people mad about a waitress not wearing a mask. If you are that concerned, stay home.Good lord!!

This place will take you back in time to your grandmother's kitchen and dining room where the while family gathered for big meals. The hardwood floors and wood ceiling beams are an excellent change from the stoic chain restaurants. Sun poured through the lace shears on the windows with cascading floral curtains. The tables were solid wood with comfy Amish like chairs. And the menu always diverse. I'll have to go back at least 17 more times to try the other items I couldn't this trip. I finally decided on the chilli omelet with the creamiest hot coco I've ever tasted. My husband ordered a spinach mushroom burrito. The servings were big but not so big you felt too stuffed to walk back to the car. The quality of the food is above average. The omelet wasn't overcooked like some restaurants. It was fluffy, fresh and rich tasting. This is by far the most charming and welcoming place I've been. I can't believe it took this long to finally stop in.
